Paul Goldschmidt respects his elders and made sure to show just how much he does with a wonderful gesture Tuesday.

The 28-year-old Goldschmidt gave his clubhouse locker - which was larger than most - to 33-year-old Rickie Weeks Jr.

Goldschmidt told Nick Piecoro of AZ Central that he wanted Weeks to have it since he had spent more time in the big leagues.

The token of appreciation received resounding praise from the baseball world.

Weeks, who signed a minor-league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks in February, earned a spot on the team's bench after hitting .432/.537/.727 with two home runs and eight RBIs during spring camp.

The one-time All-Star Weeks has played in close to 1,200 games during his 13-year career.
