VIDEO: Pearl Jam accepts Dwyane Wade's invitation to shoot hoops
Miami Heat All-Star shooting guard Dwyane Wade posted a video on the team's official Facebook page last Saturday inviting rock band Pearl Jam to the practice facility at the AmericanAirlines Arena by sending them a key.
It appeared to simply be a promotional tool for the group's upcoming show on April 9, but low and behold, Wade and the franchise were being completely genuine.
Lead singer Eddie Vedder revealed in a YouTube clip over the weekend that the Heat did in fact send the band a key.
Does the three-time NBA champion have any further connections to the band outside of his invitation, though? Is he even a fan?
"They put out an album the year I was born. That's probably the only connection," Wade joked following Miami's Monday practice. "They're coming here. We just did some things back and forth. They're coming to a place where I call my home, and I gave them the key to the house to come in anytime."
Wade was born in 1982 and Pearl Jam's debut album "Ten" didn't come out until nearly a decade later.
Whoops.
