Scott Chandler says recent knee surgery likely career-ending

Free-agent tight end Scott Chandler recently underwent knee surgery and says he doesn't expect to play in the NFL again.

Chandler's wife Alissa shared a Facebook message written by her husband on her Twitter account. In it, the veteran tight end says he will miss the 2016 season and likely won't ever return to the NFL:

Chandler was released by the New England Patriots in early March with a failed physical designation. He didn't make a big impact for the team, catching 23 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns in what is likely to have been his final season.
