Huey Lewis' most enduring contributions to pop music came out well before most members of the Chicago Cubs' roster were born, but the American rock icon was still warmly welcomed Saturday at the club's spring training complex in Mesa, Ariz.

Though his allegiance to the Cubs seems a bit tenuous - Lewis is actually set to manage the San Francisco Giants on Saturday - the 65-year-old was nevertheless out supervising as the Cubs went through their stretches with his 1983 hit, "I Want a New Drug," blaring over the loudspeaker.

Lewis, who showed up at Cubs camp one day after the club welcomed literal bear cubs into their facility, rose to international fame in the mid-80s when his eponymous band, Huey Lewis and the News, went platinum with their third album, "Sports." Unlike the previous day's visitors, however, Lewis didn't pee on first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
