Despite coming off a productive season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Walter Thurmond hasn't garnered much buzz on the open market.

One potential reason for the lack of interest in Thurmond is that the veteran defensive back is contemplating retirement, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News.

In a text to Bowen, Thurmond asked, "Who started that rumor?" However, when asked if he wanted to deny it, he didn't respond.

Thurmond signed a one-year, $3.25-million deal with the Eagles last season to bolster the team's depth at cornerback, but ended up switching to safety. He appeared in and started all 16 games for the first time in his career, finishing with 71 tackles, three interceptions, two sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Before joining the Eagles, Thurmond spent one season with the New York Giants and the previous four with the Seattle Seahawks.
