Fantasy Golf Insider: 9 players to target at the RBC Heritage

World No. 1 Jason Day leads a more conventional field out of Augusta National to Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head, South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. RBC is one of Day's major sponsors, making him one of the few top golfers to attend. He tops the pricing charts while trying to return to the form he showed prior to a disappointing four days at The Masters.

Here's a look at the past three leaderboards (*denotes a playoff):

2013 2014 2015
1 Graeme McDowell* Matt Kuchar Jim Furyk*
2 Webb Simpson* Luke Donald Kevin Kisner*
3 Luke Donald* John Huh Troy Merritt

Per FantasyInsiders, the key stats for Harbour Town GL are Driving Accuracy (DA), Scrambling (SCR), Strokes Gained: Putting (SGP), Par 4 Scoring (P4S), Proximity to Hole (PH) and Bogey Avoidance (BA). These stats were strengths of previous winners and need to be used in combination with analysis of recent form and course history.

Top Tier, Top Dollar, Top Results

Kevin Kisner

Kisner will come with a high ownership but it can be disregarded due to his high win probability. The thinner field and last year's second-place finish propel his price upward for the week. The key stats also support him, as he ranks seventh on tour in DA and fifth in P4S. Lock him into all cash-game lineups and build tournament entries around him, as well.

Paul Casey

Casey has racked up three consecutive top-10 finishes, culminating with a T4 at The Masters. His recent run and the thin field this week make him the second most expensive player on the board, behind only Day. He hasn't fared well in any of the key stats, with P4S and BA being mild strengths. He placed 18th here in 2014.

While typically a strong cash-game play, he deserves GPP consideration due to his recent form.

Matt Kuchar

Kuchar had just one round of par or better at The Masters but his final score of plus-6 was good for a 24th-place finish. He has made nine of 10 cuts this season with two top-10 finishes coming at the WGC: Dell Match Play and the Northern Trust Open. He followed up his win in 2014 with a fifth-place finish last year, and he could break through this weekend.

Best Value With a Chance

Scott Brown

Brown has made the cut in six consecutive events and 11 of 15 overall for the year. But despite the made cuts, his finishes have been inconsistent. He has, however, posted stronger finishes in weaker-field events. Earlier this season on the Tour Junkies podcast, Brown said he likes how this course sets up; DFS owners can feel comfortable trusting his preference.

Chez Reavie

Reavie is a favorite of this week's key stats. He ranks 15th in DA, third in SCR, 21st in P4S, 19th in PH, and seventh in BA. He has made five consecutive cuts including, two seventh-place finishes. He has also made at least one eagle - and as many as three - in four of his past five tournaments.

Reavie has more bogeys than birdies in just one tournament this year, and has posted nothing worse than a double bogey in 2016. That consistency sets up well for accumulating daily fantasy points.

K.J. Choi

Choi has made eight of 11 cuts this season with top-10 finishes coming at the Northern Trust Open and a second-place finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. Choi missed the cut here last year, but he finished 31st in 2014 and 18th in 2013. He ranks inside the top-50 tour players in four of the six key stats for the week, highlighted by a No. 4 ranking in SCR.

If Everything Goes Right

Camilo Villegas

Villegas is a pure tournament play, but he makes for a good choice at a low cost. He has made seven of 13 cuts, highlighted by a 14th-place result at The Honda Classic. He withdrew before the start of this event in 2015, but he finished inside the top 30 each of the previous two years with a high of ninth in 2013. His top finishes often correlate with weaker fields.

David Toms

Toms is the top player according to the week's key stats.

DA SCR SGP P4S PH BA
13 1 56 12 10 9

He doesn't have good course history, playing here just twice with a top finish of 53rd coming in 2014. He's a long shot, but the stats support him. He hasn't had a strong finish since a second-place result at the Sanderson Farms Championship in November, but his game is tailor made to this course.

Justin Leonard

Leonard has played in just six events this season, making four cuts. He has finished inside the top 20 in each of his past two tournaments - the Northern Trust Open and the Valspar Championship. He has played here nine of the past 10 years. While he has missed the cut three of his past four tries, he had back-to-back top-20 finishes in 2007 and 2008.

Top Fades

Jason Day

Day will need to put his disappointing finish at The Masters behind him quickly as he suits up for his sponsor's tournament. He skipped the event the past two years and hasn't played since coming 30th in 2013. His best career finish here came in 2011 when he finished ninth. He certainly has the potential to win, but he's also a risk after last week's heartbreak.

Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau's price has soared along with his popularity ahead of his first tour appearance as a professional. He is on everybody's radar after a strong showing at August National, and his ownership will demand a top finish - if not a win. DFS owners should hold off until the popularity has a chance to cool.

Brandt Snedeker

Snedeker has just one top-20 finish since winning this event in 2011. That was a 17th-place finish in 2012, with his next-best performance a 26th-place showing in 2015. He ranks well in SCR and P4S, but he's just 120th in driving accuracy. He has won the event before, but he's missing one of the key tools he had five years ago.
