Adam LaRoche has "zero regrets" about walking away from a $13-million salary after a dispute with Chicago White Sox management about no longer bringing his son to the yard.

In an interview with "Good Morning America," LaRoche said he hasn't doubted his retirement since club vice president Kenny Williams told him in March he couldn't let his 14-year-old son Drake tag along with his father anymore.

"I haven't lost an ounce of sleep," he said. "I have zero regrets."

LaRoche said after his discussion with Williams, it took roughly 20 minutes to consider retirement. Two days later, he made it official, and he's aware he stepped away from a large sum of cash.

"I get that it's an absurd amount of money," he said, adding he's at peace with his decision.

Upon choosing to leave baseball, he became the poster boy for "family first," but also drew skepticism because he left the game following the worst season of his 12-year career.

Last season, he batted .207/.293/.340 with 12 home runs in 127 games. But overall, he's a career .260/.336/.462 hitter.
