Top Options
NAME | OPPOSITION | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Brian Elliott (STL) | at ARI | 8 |
Braden Holtby (WAS) | vs. NJ | 8 |
Elliott has won his past four starts and allowed a single goal in each of his last three outings. His salary is high but he still possesses value.
Holtby has the highest salary, but a matchup against the offensively inept Devils is tempting. He is fit for cash games if you are willing to spend up.
Best of the Rest
NAME | OPPOSITION | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Steve Mason (PHI) | at TOR | 7 |
Craig Anderson (OTT) | vs. DET | 7 |
Calvin Pickard (COL) | at EDM | 6 |
Pekka Rinne (NAS) | vs. LA | 6 |
Jonathan Quick (LA) | at NAS | 6 |
Pickard will start ahead of Semyon Varlamov Saturday night. He has a nice matchup and reasonable salary.
Rinne and Quick square off against one another but Rinne possesses a bit more value. He has home-ice, a lower salary, and is coming off a 29-save shutout of the Bruins. He makes for an intriguing contrarian play.
NAME | OPPOSITION | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Petr Mrazek (DET) | at OTT | 5 |
Roberto Luongo (FLA) | vs. WPG | 5 |
Tuukka Rask (BOS) | at DAL | 5 |
Cory Schneider (NJ) | at WAS | 5 |
Jonathan Bernier (TOR) | vs. PHI | 4 |
Antti Niemi (DAL) | vs. BOS | 4 |
Mrazek had been one of the hottest goalies of late. Unfortunately, that title was rescinded after giving up five goals in back-to-back games.
To be frank, Luongo has been brutal of late. In his last five starts, he has given up 18 goals. He was even pulled after the first period on February 12 against St. Louis after giving up three goals on 13 shots. His matchup and home-ice are in his favor but his salary and recent play are not.
