New Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson could be angling to reunite with the backup quarterback he had in Kansas City.

Chase Daniel is a name to watch in connection to the Eagles in free agency, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Eagles presumably need a starting quarterback, with Sam Bradford unlikely to be retained, and Pederson reportedly believes Daniel can be "more than a backup."

The 29-year-old Daniel has played sparingly in his seven pro seasons, never throwing more than 25 passes in a season. He's a relative unknown to most fans, but Pederson is highly familiar with what he can do, having coached him with the the Chiefs as Alex Smith's backup since 2013.
