The New York Yankees want to make something perfectly clear to those eager to land a job with the organization this spring: if you aren't a "Motivated Professional," they aren't interested.

With pitchers and catchers set to report Thursday, the club decided to hang a sign of inspirational platitudes on the clubhouse door at their spring training complex in Tampa Bay, complete with an emboldened headline that reads "Motivated Professionals Only."

The franchise's commitment to professionalism and being motivated is well established, after all. Just look at the litany of icons this organization has employed. Babe Ruth? He was a Motivated Professional. Joe DiMaggio? Another Motivated Professional. Mickey Mantle? You better believe he was a Motivated Professional. That Derek Jeter fellow? None were more Professional than him, and none were more Motivated, either.
