Global footballing superstar David Beckham is reportedly looking to add some more financial firepower to his ownership group as he continues to pursue an MLS franchise in Miami.

Beckham, whose contract with the LA Galaxy also included the purchasing rights for his own MLS team, is currently the majority owner and face of the Miami franchise, but might be tempted to sell enough of his stake to no longer be the controlling partner of the future club.

The Miami Herald reports that Beckham is looking for another investor to help finance the $300-million bill needed to build a new stadium and training facility and set up a front office, while also funding the signing of high-profile Designated Players.

He has supposedly reached out to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, Paris Saint-Germain's Qatari ownership group, Qatar Sports Investments, as well as investment groups in China and the United States. Beckham is reportedly looking for a partner who understands the world of professional sports.

Beckham's current group, which includes former Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment president Tim Leiweke, is currently in the process of securing a stadium site in Miami and is scheduled to meet with city and county officials on Wednesday to discuss the procurement of a nine-acre site in Overtown.
