Report: Marcel de Jong set for Sporting Kansas City exit

Sporting Kansas City is reportedly set to part ways with Canadian left full-back Marcel de Jong, according to the Montreal Gazette's Lloyd Barker.
De Jong was supposedly told by Kansas City he's not part of the club's future plans. The 29-year-old defender, who scored one goal and recorded one assist in 13 appearances last season, joined Sporting KC in March 2015.
His potential release coincides with the team's commitment to left full-back Seth Sinovic, who signed a contract extension in early December.
