Patriots, Cowboys are America's least favorite NFL teams, according to poll

The Dallas Cowboys may not be America's team after all.

A recent poll conducted by Public Policy Polling found that the Cowboys and New England Patriots are America's least favorite NFL teams.

Of the 410 "self-described NFL fans" polled, 23 percent listed the Patriots as their least favorite team, followed by the Cowboys at 20 percent. No other team fell into the double digits.

Fans apparently aren't too keen on the Cowboys being known as America's team, either. When asked if they deserve that designation, only 27 percent said they do, while 64 percent disagreed.

Interestingly, the Patriots and Cowboys did well in the favorite teams category, finishing third (11 percent) and fourth (10 percent), respectively. The Green Bay Packers finished first with 15 percent of the vote, followed by the Carolina Panthers at 13 percent.

The poll was conducted on Feb. 2 and 3, which may explain the Panthers' high ranking. The Denver Broncos ranked as America's sixth favorite team.

Tom Brady ranked first in both the favorite (23 percent) and least favorite quarterback (29 percent) categories. Tim Tebow also made both lists, despite having not played a regular-season NFL game since 2012.
