Report: Pepe unavailable for Real Madrid's trip to Granada

Real Madrid centre-back Pepe is reportedly slated to miss Sunday's visit to Granada, as the Portuguese international continues to recover from a foot injury.

Pepe, 32, missed out on Los Blancos' 6-0 victory over Espanyol last weekend, with the club announcing that it will continue to assess his fitness ahead of Sunday's match.

"After new tests carried out today on the player Pepe at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the Real Madrid medical services have decide to continue the recovery work on the plantar fascia discomfort in his right foot over the coming days," a statement on Real's website read Friday. "His recovery will continue to be assessed."

Pepe's 2015-16 campaign has been defined by injuries after three consecutive seasons at the Bernabeu with at least 27 league appearances.

The towering defender has appeared in 13 La Liga matches, having missed time first with a calf strain, followed by a leg concern that had him out for the entirety of October.
