Carlos Tevez is back at Boca Juniors, and, only 16 kilometres away, Andres D'Alessandro is back at River Plate.

On Wednesday, at an emotional press conference, D'Alessandro confirmed that he is leaving Internacional after eight seasons and returning to River, the club where he was produced, on a one-year loan.

"Inter is the club that gave me everything, nothing compares to my relationship with the Inter," said D'Alessandro, who broke down into tears no less than four times during the press conference.

By South American standards, D'Alessandro's time at Inter was unbelievably successful. He tallied 76 goals and 49 assists through 340 appearances, and his goal-scoring exploits were directly responsible for the club capturing the 2010 Copa Libertadores, the 2008 Copa Sudamericana, the 2011 Recopa Sudamericana, and six Gauchao titles.
