Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will not be punished just yet.

On Friday, the FIFA Appeal Committee provisionally suspended the transfer bans that were issued to Real Madrid and Atleti for breaching regulations about the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.

From Real Madrid's official website:

Real Madrid C. F. has announced that the FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to provisionally suspend the sanction imposed on the club.

From Atleti's official website:

The FIFA Appeal Committee has granted the probationary suspension of the sanction imposed by the Disciplinary Committee of said body that prevented our club from signing national or foreign football players during the next two full periods of recruitment.

The probationary suspension of said sanction shall be applied pending the outcome of the appeal filed by our club with the Appeal Committee of the maximum global governing body of football. It stated that our club did not agree with the sanctioning resolution and, at the same time, we considered that we had acted within the law in all cases.

Both Real Madrid and Atleti lodged appeals after they were found to have "violated several provisions concerning the international transfer and first registration of minor players as well as other relevant provisions with regard to the registration and participation of certain players in competitions."

According to ESPN FC, Atleti presented two appeals before FIFA. The first sought to have the transfer ban nullified, and the second sought a preliminary suspension until the FIFA Appeal Committee had given a final verdict on the subject of youth transfer.
