Eric Striker clarifies what he meant by 'Predator' comment
Eric Striker isn't denying what he said, but he refuses to acknowledge that the way the media took his comments was accurate.
When the Heisman Trophy finalists were announced, the Oklahoma linebacker told reporters that he didn't think someone who looks like Predator should win the award.
Of course, he was vouching for his quarterback Baker Mayfield to win the Heisman. Instead, he finished a distant fourth.
Of all the candidates - Henry, Deshaun Watson, and Christian McCaffrey - it's pretty obvious who Striker was referring to. The insinuation was evident: that Derrick Henry's haircut drew resemblances to the character in the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.
But during Senior Bowl media day, he failed to agree that his comment was about the Alabama running back.
"I didn't say anything about Derrick Henry," Striker told reporters. "All I said was Baker's a good looking guy. You want him to win a Heisman, not a guy who looks like Predator. I didn't say anything about Derrick Henry."
But when pressed on whether it was Watson or McCaffrey who looked like Predator, Striker continued to stand pat.
"Just a guy in general," Striker said with a laugh. "Take it how you want it."
