VIDEO: Pelicans' Cunningham only needs 2 seconds to steal, score

Derick E. Hingle / USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves had a nine-point lead on the New Orleans Pelicans going into halftime on Tuesday.

Whatever Pels head coach Alvin Gentry told his team during the break to get them motivated definitely worked, as the home team outscored the Wolves by 16 points in the third quarter.

The final two points of said stanza were the most admirable.

After a Jrue Holiday bucket, Wolves guard Zach LaVine carelessly tossed the ball to Nemanja Bjelica, who was hovering around mid-court. Dante Cunningham - New Orleans' resident hustle expert - picked off LaVine's telegraphed pass and converted the last-second layup at the buzzer.

Just like Gentry drew it up.
