Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan stated during his press conference Monday that Tyrod Taylor would remain the team's starting quarterback for the 2016 season.

Taylor emerged from relative anonymity to supplant EJ Manuel for the starter's role, and excelled in his first season with the Bills. In 14 games, he completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 20 touchdowns against six interceptions, adding 568 rushing yards and four scores.

The Bills quarterback has one year left on his contract, and is slated to be paid $1.1 million for the 2016 season. He could be in line for a contract extension after another strong season.

"If he's playing well, we'll be happy to pay him," Bills general manager Doug Whaley said of Taylor.

Although the Bills stumbled to an 8-8 mark, it appears they've found their quarterback of the future. The team could opt to draft a quarterback to challenge Taylor for the starting role, but he seems to have passed his first test with the organization.
