Westbrook posts triple-double as Thunder crush T-Wolves

After an early exit on Wednesday left Russell Westbrook scoreless for just the second time in his career, the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard needed to redeem himself in Friday night's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The four-time All-Star responded with a terrific performance, posting a line of 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists for his fourth triple-double of the season in the Thunder's 113-93 victory over Minnesota.

Westbrook made quick work of the Timberwolves, notching the triple-double with 4:11 remaining in the third quarter by connecting with Andre Roberson on a half-court alley-oop.

With Oklahoma City entering the fourth holding a 17-point lead, Westbrook and fellow All-Star Kevin Durant were able to rest for the entirety of the final quarter.

Westbrook has been filling up his stat sheets consistently this year, averaging 24.8 points, 9.5 assists, and seven rebounds coming into Friday's contest. The 27-year-old has also seen a rise in his efficiency from last season, shooting higher percentages from both the field and 3-point range.

The Thunder's win brings their record to 29-12, good for third in the Western Conference but still well behind both the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs for the top two seeds.
