Report: Dolphins likely to part ways with GM Dennis Hickey

The Miami Dolphins could soon be in the market for a new general manager.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that all signs are pointing towards the Dolphins parting ways with Dennis Hickey, with one source saying the team plans to fire him Monday.

Another source tells Florio that nothing has been finalized as of yet, and that discussions between the Dolphins and Hickey will continue over the next few days.

Hickey was hired in 2014 to replace Jeff Ireland, but saw his duties diminish when former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum was brought on to serve as executive vice president of football operations.

Tannenbaum has no intention of naming himself general manager, though, according to Florio.

As for potential replacements for Hickey, Florio names Dolphins director of college scouting Chris Grier as someone to watch.
