NASCAR legend Marvin Panch dies at 89

NASCAR legend Marvin Panch, who's best known for his 1961 victory at the Daytona 500, passed away Thursday at the age of 89.

Panch was pronounced dead from natural causes after being found unresponsive in his car in Daytona Beach.

A celebration of life service will be held during the 2016 Daytona Speedweeks, according to a statement released by his family.

The Oakland native was named one of NASCAR's "50 Greatest Drivers" in 1998.

He made 216 Sprint Cup Series starts, winning 17 times in his career, and retired in 1966.
