Jake Allen: legit No. 1 goalie?

It sure seems that way after the St. Louis Blues netminder stopped all 26 shots fired his way Saturday by the first-place and high-scoring Dallas Stars.

In so doing, he earned his 13th win and fourth shutout of the season, tying Devan Dubnyk for the league lead in the latter. It also marks the first time the NHL's top team in terms of points and goals for has been held off the score sheet altogether.

To top it off, Allen made saves off the sticks of Tyler Seguin and Patrick Sharp while the Blues were killing a lengthy five-on-three situation late in the game.

Allen put in two poor performances to kick off December, briefly giving way to counterpart Brian Elliott.

Over his last two starts, however, Allen has stopped 48 of 49 shots, raising his save percentage to .927 through 22 appearances.
