Devils' Cammalleri records 3rd straight multi-point game in win over Panthers

At age 33, and playing on what was supposed to be a downtrodden New Jersey Devils team, Mike Cammalleri is almost inexplicably enjoying a career-best season so far.

The leading scorer of a rejuvenated New Jersey offence had a third straight multi-point effort in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers, and in the process, has quietly crept into the top five in league scoring.

He's one of 10 players scoring at better than a point-per-game pace, and is in line for a career-best points total, without an exaggerated shooting percentage to devalue his numbers.

While regression, in some form, is likely in his future, what's done is done to this point. And right now, one-third through the season, Cammalleri has the Devils holding a postseason spot, in a year most pundits had them pegged as possible front-runners for Auston Matthews.
