Shea Weber's out there making history.
The Nashville Predators' captain became the first defenseman in franchise history to record a hat trick, with the milestone markers coming against Petr Mrazek of the Detroit Red Wings courtesy of (what else?) slap shots.

The hat trick, Weber's first, is a rare feat among defensmen in recent years.
Weber now has nine goals on the season, drawing him even with Brent Burns for top spot among all blue-liners.
Unfortunately, he won't be able to enjoy it, after his Predators lost the game in overtime.
