The Chicago Blackhawks played spoiler, preventing the San Jose Sharks from extending their winning streak to seven games with a 5-2 victory Wednesday.

Patrick Kane notched two assists to extend his point streak to 17 games, while also helping him move ahead of Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn to reclaim top spot in the league's scoring race,

The Blackhawks also got contributions from most of their big guns, with Brent Seabrook, Jonathan Toews, and Duncan Keith all finding the back of the net, while Andrew Desjardins and Andrew Shaw had the insurance markers.

The Sharks, meanwhile, dropped their first game at home after returning from a perfect 6-0-0 Eastern Conference road trip. The Sharks now boast a dismal record of 3-6-0 at home and an impressive 10-3-0 mark on the road.

Unfortunately for the Sharks, they'll have to endure two more games at home before they head back on the road to face the Anaheim Ducks on Dec. 4.

The win gives the Blackhawks back-to-back victories and helps them leap ahead of the Minnesota Wild for the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
