Orlov extends scoring streak in Capitals' victory over Jets

The Washington Capitals flexed their offensive muscles as they powered their way past the Winnipeg Jets 5-4 on Wednesday.

Defenseman Dmitry Orlov had the game-winning goal, extending his goal-scoring streak to three games, while also adding an assist on Nicklas Backstrom's second-period marker.

Evgeny Kuznetsov led the way on the scoreboard, tallying one goal and adding two helpers. His three-point night helped to extend his lead on the team's scoring race, now sitting four points ahead of Alex Ovechkin with 24 on the season.

Ovechkin added a goal of his own in the second period and finished the game with eight shots on Jets netminder Michael Hutchinson.

Braden Holtby made 20 saves on 23 shots to record the win, while Hutchinson allowed five goals on 31 shots in a losing effort.
