The Kansas City Chiefs could be down yet another running back when they host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Charcandrick West, who'd taken over as the starter following Jamaal Charles' season-ending knee injury, could be forced to sit out this week as he deals with a hamstring injury suffered last week, head coach Andy Reid announced Wednesday.

Reid didn't rule West out, indicating that there's certainly a chance he'll make enough progress in the coming days, but his status is certainly in doubt looking ahead to the weekend.

The injury forced him to the sideline for the first team practice session of the week on Wednesday.

Spencer Ware and Knile Davis would step into more significant roles if West misses any game action, looking to maintain the level of production that's seen Kansas City produce as the NFL's ninth-ranked rushing offense.

West started in each of the five games since Charles' injury in Week 5, running for 325 yards and three touchdowns over that span.
