Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is in the NFL's concussion protocol after heading to the locker room late in the loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Roethlisberger reported symptoms to the team during the game, and at that point, the Steelers put the quarterback into the concussion protocol, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Landry Jones replaced Roethlisberger on the field with the Steelers trailing by nine points with less than two minutes left in the game.

Roethlisberger was able to finish the Steelers' previous series, which ended with a field goal, so it's unclear at present when he suffered the injury.

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett was called for roughing the passer earlier in the fourth quarter, with Roethlisberger taking a shot to the head, but the quarterback remained in the game.

With the Steelers ready to retake the field after a Doug Baldwin touchdown, Roethlisberger was seen standing on the sideline without his helmet before he jogged to the locker room.
