New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola has reportedly avoided a significant injury and is not expected to miss an extended period of time with a knee sprain, according to Tom E. Curran of CSNNE.

Amendola's injury will limit him during the Patriots' practice week and his status for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos will be determined by how he responds in practice, reports Curran.

With Julian Edelman already sidelined with a foot injury, the Patriots couldn't afford another injury at the wide receiver position, especially to Amendola, who is expected to fill the No. 1 receiver role until Edelman returns.

Amendola has 49 catches, 520 yards, and two touchdowns this season.
