Jared Jeffries News: Jeffries enters the 2012-13 season hoping that his right knee, which underwent the Kobe Bryant-approved orthokine treatment this summer, will hold up enough for him to play legitimate minutes, The Oregonian reports.

Jeffries enters the 2012-13 season hoping that his right knee, which underwent the Kobe Bryant-approved orthokine treatment this summer, will hold up enough for him to play legitimate minutes, The Oregonian reports.

Following his acquisition from New York in the offseason for Raymond Felton and Kurt Thomas, Jeffries, 31, will provide a veteran presence and impart knowledge regarding the defensive nuances of guarding the inside. However, there's no guarantee that he'll see the court as he's behind LaMarcus Aldridge, J.J. Hickson, and likely Joel Freeland on the depth chart at the four, so we'd be surprised if he matches the 18.7 minutes per game from a season ago with the Knicks.
