They don't need bigger nets in the American Hockey League.

The Toronto Marlies and St. John's IceCaps combined for a ridiculous 17 goals in a crazy game Saturday night on the East Coast, with Toronto coming away with the 9-8 overtime win.

At 8-8 after 60 minutes, the game went into the history books, tying the mark for the highest-scoring regulation tie.

The Marlies were down 8-4 early in the third period before mounting what was a monumental comeback.

Prized Toronto Maple Leafs prospect William Nylander scored the overtime winner, capping off a four-point night. He's now tied for the AHL lead in scoring with 19 points in 14 games.

Josh Leivo continued his hot play for the Marlies, scoring two goals and adding two assists. Former Maple Leaf Richard Panik had three assists, while Mark Arcobello scored twice.

For the IceCaps, the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, Michael McCarron finished with a game-high five points (two goals, three assists), while Morgan Ellis, Charles Hudon, and Bud Holloway each finished with three points.

Goaltender Garret Sparks, who came on in relief of Antoine Bibeau and didn't allow a goal, said it best:
