Jordan Zimmermann is poised to test the free-agent market.
The right-hander has rejected a one-year, $15.8-million qualifying offer from the Washington Nationals, according to MLB.com's William Ladson.
Washington will receive draft-pick compensation if Zimmermann signs with another club.
The 29-year-old joins an impressive free-agent class of pitchers on the open market, which includes David Price, and Zack Greinke.
Zimmermann made 33 starts for the Nationals in 2015, posting a 13-10 record with a 3.66 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 201 2/3 innings of work.
