Karlsson baffled after loss to Predators: 5 goals 'should win you games'

Who says the NHL has a goal-scoring problem?

Neither the Ottawa Senators nor the Nashville Predators will be pushing for bigger nets or smaller goalie equipment after Tuesday's game elicited 12 total goals.

After the dust settled, Erik Karlsson - who scored his first of the season after being burned by Roman Josi in his own end - maintained his team's 7-5 loss shouldn't have happened.

"I think we played with good pace, scored five goals and that should win you games," he said, according to Brent Wallace of TSN.

For his part, goalie Craig Anderson, who backstopped the club to a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes, assumed his share of the blame for the loss.

The dozen combined goals were the most in a single game between the two teams, both of whom aren't exactly known for lighting things up on a regular basis.
