Carey Price out another week, won't require surgery

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The Montreal Canadiens will be without star goalie Carey Price for another week.

Head coach Michel Therrien said Price is responding well to treatment for his lower-body injury, and the team's hopeful he'll be back on the ice soon. Therrien added Price won't require surgery.

The 28-year-old hasn't played since Oct. 29. He has a 7-2-0 record with a 2.01 GAA and .936 save percentage this season.

The Canadiens sit atop the NHL standings at 13-2-1, and will face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday before hosting the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
