Rick Nash's back injury will keep him out of at least one game.

The New York Rangers forward will not play Friday against the Colorado Avalanche and remains listed as day to day, the club announced. Forward Emerson Etem will draw into the lineup in Nash's absence.

Nash suffered the injury when he twisted his back during practice on Thursday.

Through 12 games, Nash has scored only one goal on 33 shots, to go along with five assists.

The Rangers also announced that defenseman Dan Boyle will be a healthy scratch.
