Howard outduels Bishop as Red Wings top Lightning
Jimmy Howard made 28 saves on 29 shots to backstop the Detroit Red Wings to a 2-1 victory over their division rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Riley Sheahan kickstarted the Red Wings offense in the second before rookie Dylan Larkin scored his second straight game-winning goal early in the third. Nikita Kucherov scored the lone goal for the Lightning, while goaltender Ben Bishop had yet another strong outing that was wasted in front of him.
Bishop has now lost four consecutive starts despite not allowing more than two goals in any of those appearances. It's the first time Bishop has lost four consecutive starts in regulation since joining the Lightning in 2013.
