Tiger Woods underwent a follow-up procedure on his surgically repaired back to alleviate discomfort stemming from a September operation, he announced Friday on TigerWoods.com.

The surgery was performed Wednesday, and there remains no timetable for his return to the PGA Tour.

"It's one of those things that had to be done," he said. "I have an outstanding team of doctors, and I'll be back as soon as I can."

Woods took part in just 10 events last season as a result of various injuries, his best finish being a tie for 10th at the Wyndham Championship in late August.
