Here is a look at the injury situation involving teams in action on Saturday:

Boston Bruins

The Bruins are shorthanded on the back end to start the season. Zdeno Chara missed the season opener and is doubtful to play tonight. They are also without Dennis Seidenberg as he recovers from back surgery.

Buffalo Sabres

Buffalo's prized offseason acquisition, goaltender Robin Lehner, got his skate caught in a rut and hurt his leg in the season opener on Thursday and will undergo an MRI today. It appears as though the injury will not be short-term. Chad Johnson will start between the pipes against Tampa Bay.

The Sabres will also be without defenseman Zach Bogosian as he continues to heal from a lower body injury. Captain Brian Gionta will not play tonight due to a lower body injury.

Calgary Flames

Mark Giordano will continue to play without his defense partner from last year, T.J. Brodie, as he recovers from a broken bone in his hand. He's listed as week-to-week. Dougie Hamilton has replaced Brodie on Calgary's top pairing.

Carolina Hurricanes

James Wisniewski suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and his expected to be out for six months.

Detroit Red Wings

The Wings will be without Pavel Datsyuk until sometime in November as he heals from an ankle injury. Captain Henrik Zetterberg will center the top line between Justin Abdelkader and highly-touted rookie Dylan Larkin. Brad Richards will center the second line between Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist.

Detroit will also be without speedster Darren Helm and puck-moving defenseman Danny DeKeyser to begin the year as they heal from a concussion and a sprained foot ligament respectively. Helm hopes to play next week whereas DeKeyser could miss close to a month.

Edmonton Oilers

Jordan Eberle will be sidelined until late October/early November as he recovers from a shoulder injury. Rookie Anton Slepyshev has skated on Edmonton's top line with Connor McDavid and Taylor Hall in Eberle's place.

New Jersey Devils

Longtime Devil Patrick Elias is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Don't expect him back anytime soon.

New York Islanders

Jaroslav Halak missed last night's game as he continues to deal with an upper body injury. He's listed as day-to-day, so if he's unable to go tonight, expect Thomas Greiss to man the crease once again for the Islanders.

Ottawa Senators

Andrew Hammond is day-to-day with a groin injury. Expect Craig Anderson to get the call in net again if the Hamburgler is unable to play.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Pascal Dupuis is expected to be out until early-to-mid November as he recovers from a lower body injury. Phil Kessel, Chris Kunitz, Patric Hornqvist and Sergei Plotnikov have manned the wings between Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin to star the season.

St. Louis Blues

Patrik Berglund will be sidelined until at least early January as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Rookie Robby Fabbri has skated on St. Louis' second line with Jori Lehtera and Jaden Schwartz for the time being.

Washington Capitals

Nicklas Backstrom will miss an estimation of four or five games with a hip injury according to the Caps. Evgeny Kuznetsov has skated between Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie in Backstrom's absence.

Marcus Johansson is questionable to play tonight as he deals with a back injury. Expect him to log top-six minutes if he's good to go.

In the Clear

Anaheim, Arizona, Chicago, Columbus, Colorado, Dallas, Florida, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, NY Rangers, Philadelphia, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg have no injuries that DFS players should be concerned about.
