Lions' DeAndre Levy practices Thursday; expected to play Sunday

Andrew Weber / USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy practiced for a second straight day on Thursday and is on track to play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Levy has missed the first four games of the season with a hip injury suffered during the preseason, but Tim Twentyman of the Lions official website reports that Levy is expected to play in Week 5.

The 0-4 Lions are in desperate need of a stabilizing influence on defense. With defensive end Ziggy Ansah and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata both struggling through injuries, Levy's return carries even more weight.

The Lions will face a Cardinals team that has scored the most points in the league so far this season.
