Keeping the Rams in St. Louis is going to cost taxpayers millions more than anticipated, according to Ray Hartmann of St. Louis Magazine.

Documents obtained by the magazine via an open records request show that taxpayers would be on the hook for $215 million more than previously believed under a plan for a new NFL stadium in downtown St. Louis.

The news comes on the heels of a $158-million naming rights deal between the proposed riverfront stadium and National Car Rental.

NFL owners are expected to discuss the possibility of returning to Los Angeles during their fall meetings in New York on Wednesday. The Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Oakland Raiders have all expressed interest in relocating.
