Report: Redskins committed to Kirk Cousins as long-term starter

Despite his two-pick performance against the New York Giants last week, Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins appears secure in his job.

Head coach Jay Gruden said after the Redskins' 32-21 loss to the Giants that he had given no thought to the idea of benching Cousins, and hasn't wavered on those comments since, NFL Media's Albert Breer reports.

Washington is reportedly hoping that by allowing Cousins to ride out bad starts, he will grow more confident.

Cousins and the Redskins will look to rebound Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
