The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Tomas Fleischmann to a one-year contract.

Fleischmann will be paid $750,000, according to TVA's Renaud Lavoie.

The 31-year-old notched one goal and two assists in four preseason games playing on a line with Dale Weise and David Desharnais.

He was invited to Canadiens training camp on a professional tryout contract last month.

Fleischmann split last season between the Florida Panthers and the Anaheim Ducks, registering eight goals and 22 assists in 66 games.

The veteran of 10 NHL seasons spent four campaigns with the Panthers, six with the Washington Capitals, and a 22-game stint with the Colorado Avalanche.

Fleischmann has 123 goals and 310 points in 581 career games. He was a second-round pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2002.
