The Colorado Avalanche are giving Curtis Glencross another chance to crack an NHL roster this fall.

The Avalanche will sign the veteran forward to a professional tryout contract.

He is expected to be in Colorado's lineup for the preseason game against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night, according to The FAN 960's Dean Molberg.

Glencross was released from a tryout deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday.

The 32-year-old recorded seven points in 18 games with the Washington Capitals and 28 points in 53 games with the Flames in 2014-15.

He spent seven seasons with the Flames, and has also played for the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Anaheim Ducks.
