Blue Jays push Buehrle's start back again; will pitch Monday at Fenway

Determined to ensure their veteran left-hander is sufficiently rested, the Toronto Blue Jays pushed Mark Buehrle's upcoming start back for a second time ahead of Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre.

Buehrle, who admitted after his most recent outing that he's "not feeling the best," was initially expected to start Saturday afternoon, but was bumped to Sunday for additional rest. Manager John Gibbons announced Saturday, though, that Buehrle will now start Monday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, with Marco Estrada taking the mound Sunday in Buehrle's stead.

"Just the last couple starts, I haven't felt the greatest," Buehrle told reporters after allowing two runs - one earned - over six innings last Sunday in a 9-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers. "But again, I'm going out there and grinding it out, trying to go as deep in the game as I can."

The 36-year-old owns a 3.53 ERA over 26 starts this season while leading the American League with four complete games, but has posted a 4.38 ERA with six home runs allowed in 37 innings (1.46 per nine) since the beginning of August.
