Colts already preparing for Tyrod Taylor, Bills

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan had planned to wait until as close to the season opener as possible to reveal the identity of his starting quarterback, but that changed Monday with the announcement that Tyrod Taylor would start against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano was in Baltimore when Taylor played for the Ravens and has wasted little time preparing his team for Taylor's dual-threat ability.

"Better get a package in to have somebody fast enough so when he takes off," Pagano told Mike Wells of ESPN.

"It doesn't mean that they couldn't throw another guy in there at some point during the course of that game, but you can kind of hone in on what you want to do, especially from a pass-rush standpoint," Pagano continued. "If you have a pure pocket passer that is not mobile, can't run around, you're probably going to go after him a certain way. If you've got a guy that's as athletic and mobile as Tyrod is, then you have to plan accordingly."

Coincidentally, Taylor's last start came against Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck's Stanford Cardinals beat Taylor's Virginia Tech Hokies, 40-12, in the 2011 Orange Bowl.
