VIDEO: Azarenka asks chair ump if she's ever played tennis; 'You probably weren't very good'

It's no secret that officiating, in any sport, is a thankless job. If you're doing it well, you're invisible. If anyone's paying attention to you, it's likely because they think you've screwed up.

Tennis players can be particularly cruel to chair umpires and linespeople, and in her first-round US Open match Tuesday, world No. 20 Victoria Azarenka went straight for the jugular.

After reportedly disagreeing with the chair ump on whether an overturned call had interrupted her swing when initially made, Azarenka asked the ump if she'd ever played tennis before. Azarenka seemed surprise when the ump answered in the affirmative, but had a stinging retort at the ready.

When you've been hanging around with Nick Kyrgios too much

The personal attack rang sadly familiar. Just Monday night, men's No. 32 seed Fabio Fognini told his chair umpire, "You're no good," at the conclusion of his first-round match.

For what it's worth, Azarenka rolled in the match, beating Lucie Hradecka 6-1, 6-2 in just 65 minutes.
