Fred Jackson visits Seahawks; no deal imminent

Ex-Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson will visit the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

"This is a visit, not a signing," head coach Pete Carroll cautioned after reports emerged suggesting a deal was imminent.

A signing would reunite Jackson with Marshawn Lynch, his teammate with the Bills from 2007-10. The two remain good friends.

The Seahawks are a bit of a curious fit for Jackson, with Lynch entrenched as starter and Robert Turbin representing above-average depth. Should Jackson sign, it would likely spell the end of 2013 second-round pick Christine Michael's time in Seattle.

Jackson was released by the Bills on Monday. His 5,646 rushing yards ranks third in franchise history, behind only Thurman Thomas and O.J. Simpson.
