Tim Wright's reunion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't last long.

The Bucs have traded Wright, whom they claimed off waivers in June, to the Detroit Lions in exchange for kicker Kyle Brindza, the team announced Monday.

Wright was part of the trade that sent former New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins to the Bucs in August 2014. He appeared in 16 games for the Patriots last season, catching 26 passes for 259 yards and six touchdowns.

The Lions currently have six tight ends on their roster, including Joseph Fauria and 2014 first-round pick Eric Ebron.
