Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Arthur Jones will visit a foot and ankle specialist after undergoing an MRI on Sunday, ESPN's Josina Anderson reports.

It's a troubling development for a player who battled an ankle injury most of last season.

Jones left Saturday's preseason contest in a walking boot after picking up the injury on the first play of the game.

Head coach Chuck Pagano expressed optimism about Jones' status after the game, but Sunday's development suggests the injury could be significant.

Jones signed a five-year, $33-million deal with the Colts in 2014.
